ELY- Emmanuel Lutheran Youth

ELY (Emmanuel Lutheran Youth) is a community of high school students and caring adults who hang out every Wednesday (except during Lent and Advent) at 7:30pm. The group meets in the basement of Wagner’s store (619 N. Lincoln Avenue). Just come to the back door on Platte St. Expect to enjoy some food, fellowship and fun.

We love the youth with whom we have the privilege to grow. We strive to provide an environment where teens can gather, ask questions, be accepted, and share in Christ’s love.

Contact info: If you’d like to find out more about the group, feel free to contact Pastor Ben (email: bkaiser@efyork.org, cell: (402) 366-4309).

The Word from the Annex,
Guess what? Ever wondered what the word “Annex” means? Maybe not. But, If you check out your dictionary app on the phone or pick-up a paper dictionary, here’s what you might find:
Annex….to attach or join to something, especially to a larger and significant thing.
We all want to belong to something larger than ourselves, somewhere we can be appreciated . So we join all kinds of groups, clubs, or sports teams. And those are good gifts from God. But, we can also be “annexed” to negative groups or things because of pressure from friends or the teen culture. But, do you know when you were “annexed” to something larger and better than anything in the whole world? Romans 6:3-4
Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
God loved you so very much that You have been annexed by Grace with Christ in your Baptism. You have been joined to Christ Jesus, who is your life and your light. Being annexed to Him, you have the 100% promise that He will always listen to you and give your life meaning even when things seem terrible in your life. Annexed with Jesus Christ, your sins are really forgiven and you have the promise of eternal life.
